Are we happy that our high school days are over? Let's see. . . In September, 1938, we trooped into H. H. S. Each one of us had his own conception of senior high school life but still retained his loyalty to his junior high alma mater. We were a little timid at first, but as we learned to know each other, this feeling soon left, and we began to acclimate ourselves to our new surroundings. Numerous sophomores won places on varsity teams. Our class early began its record of scholastic distinction and meritorious participation in school organ- izations. We proudly accepted the challenge to become a junior class par excellence. Juniors are considered the indifferent class of any school, what about us? Again we fur- nished worthwhile material for school activities. Many of us distinguished ourselves in the field of sports. The Dramatic Club production, Tish, drew its talent mainly from the Junior Class as did the Glee Club for The Lucky Jade. For two years wc rushed through school, now as seniors what have we accomplished? As we pause to reflect, wc realize that seniors are the foundation and strength of a school. Eighty-five per cent of the football team were seniors. One-half of the soccer team were seniors. Except for two members, the entire basketball team which tied for Hrst place in the C. V. A. L. were seniors. Yes, we are proud of our athletic record. Our scholastic record speaks for itself. Indeed, we have shown ourselves definitely capable of leading in all school activities. The senior editorial staff of our newspaper, The Hoo-VVair-N-Wat, proved their originality and ingenuity. Through the staunch support of our senior class we presented a true history of thc past school year in the Heiskelite, the l41 annual. Dramatically we gave you June Mad and leads in Kind Lady. Every club had the steady, loyal support of the seniors. Now we are graduating to be re- placed by another class. To them we leave the challenge to equal or surpass our attainments, fully realizing our reluctance in leaving H. H. S.
