Then Comes the Awaited Evening of Enchantment Royal candidates (L to R) Randy Nicholson, Chris Stone, Tim Franklin, Linda Wieseke, Mike Fouts, Anita Miller, Clif Lakes, Randi LaGrange, Doug Todd, and Rebecca Pitts anx- iously await the final decision. Doug Todd and Rebecca Pitts reign as king and queen of the 1968 Junior Senior Prom. Prom excitement continued into the after prom party at the Hartley Hills Country Club from midnight to 2 o ' clock. Moving from room to room, the couples enjoyed both games and dancing. Music was provided by the NeoOrpheus, a band from Alexandria, Indiana. Juniors ' parents prepared the refreshments and sponsored the evening ' s activities. Here en- joying a game of skittle are (L to R) Joyce Oler, Jerry Lamb, Terry Giggy, Cathy Collis, Dean Campbell, and Cinda Cranor. Sue Dennis, Steve Iossi, and Vickey Short, serve Mr. and Mrs. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Douglass, and Mrs. Stone cookies and punch. Couples enjoy each other ' s company at the tables. 23

Much Preparation Precedes ' Piazza Romana; The 1968 Junior-Senior Prom, Piazza Romana , was held from 9 to 12 the evening of April 26. The gym was transformed into a beautiful garden with a fountain and swing located on the stage. Above the fountain, a soft pink light filtered through the blue ceiling. Flickering candles and pastel table cloths decorated the refreshment and table area which covered one-half of the gym floor. Couples danced to the music of the Middletown Dance Band. Prom Chairman Dan Hollenberg (left) supports Bobby Baer and fellow Juniors in their efforts to complete Prom. Redith Summers goes merrily about her work. Lucille Stout, a graduate of HHS, applies the final touches to Krista McMinn ' s hair style. Juniors apply group effort under the supervision of Mrs. Beeson. Phil Beachler straightens his tie before leaving home to pick up his date for the Prom. 22

Various Awards and Scholarships Given to Honors were showered on HHS students on May 17, 1968. with awards going to scholastic, art, music, drama, journalism, athletic, FHA, FFA, business, and library students. Many received recognition for per- fect attendance and high honor roll averages. Several scholarships were also given. r F f l W ' W .- p- m 1 ■ ■ § ' xSI ■ Mrs. Long presented Jennifer Stout (above) and Becca Lilly for outstanding performance during class plays. Jennifer also won the Betty Crocker award. Miss Veach awarded Betty Scruggs a trophy for her out- standing achievement in four years of FHA. She also received the Crisco Award and a certificate from McCalls. Mrs. Devine received a standing ovation from student body and faculty when Mrs. Inman presented her with a gift for her many years of service at HHS. Steve Cox and Susie Stratton received I Dare You awards for outstanding school leadership.
