Linda May, Jean Ann Campbell, Chuck Bell, Linda Dick, and Bill Bowman are among the many juniors who combined hard work and group effort to make the night of Moonlight and Roses a success. Jean Ann leads flower making, not suspecting that she is soon to become queen of the Prom. Claudia Dougherty, Scott Werner, and Linda Bryan attach flowers and crepe paper streamers to the Junior-Senior Prom ' s gazebo. Scott glued away, not knowing that he would later reign as king. Gwynne (Carla Hoover) looks on as Ella (Jennifer Stout) accepts a call at Susanswerphone, a telephone answering service. Tim Harrison, Cinda Cranor, Jay Werking, and Karen Swoveland dance and sing The Midas Touch. Its com- poser, Dr. Kitchell (David Wittman) looks on. ' Bells Are Ringing Is Third HHS Musical Sandor (Steve Wieseke), a bookie, romances Sue (Susan Seffrin) in order to use Susanswerphone as a booking agency. Here, they plan their future in Salzburg. Ella and Jeff ( Rob Beaihler I sing about their newly dis- covered feelings for each other after meeting in the park. Members of the chorus join in on Just In Time. The 1967 musical, Bells Are Ringing , was as entertaining as the earlier ones put on by the HHS music department. One could hear such songs as The Party ' s Over and Just In Time being hummed in HHS halls for some time after the musical. Many people never seen on stage played a vital part in the production. Among these were co- directors Mr. Harold Smith and Mr. Yeager, the Egats club, and the costume and make-up committees. Like most musicals, Bells Are Ringing has a happy- ending, and here Ella and Jeff are reunited after trouble with the law and a case of mistaken identity.

Theme for 1967 Prom On May 12 the 1967 Junior-Senior prom, spon- sored by the juniors, highlighted the social cal- endar. A Moonlight and Roses theme was carried out by transforming the gym into a garden patio. As couples entered across a bridge, their attention was drawn by a gazebo in the center of the floor, where the Middletown High School dance band played. Prom royalty was crowned in front of the Southern mansion on the stage. John Weiss and Joe Barnard act as masters of ceremony for the crowning. Here Jean Ann Campbell receives her crown from John as King Scott Werner smiles approvingly. As the excitement of Prom reaches its peak, Jean and Scott smile happily for the camera. Scott Werner, newly announced king of the Junior-Senior Prom, receives smiles of con- gratulations from his fellow king candidates (L. to R.) Les Mosier, Dean Campbell, Wes DeBolt, and Mike Paul. 2]
