Students Enjoy Informal Moments at School Many memories of school days were of incidents unrelated to classes or organized activities. Students have remembered occasions when class rings or caps and gowns were ordered, or being with friends between classes and during the open noon hour. These informal moments completed the school day. The gym was a favorite meeting place at noon. Students could buy candy, dance, play basketball, or stand and talk as these seniors are doing. Students scurry to be first in line for lunch. Sophomore president Steve Higinbotham takes Susann Mitchell ' s ring size as she prepares to order her class ring. During lunch hour, Wes Debolt, Rcdith Summers, Randy Nicholson, and Kathy Crcene soak up the spring sun.

Student Elections Mimic Authentic Procedures New election procedures were incorporated into school activities by the Student Council this year. Anyone wanting to become a candidate for class of- ficer or cheerleader had to file a petition which con- tained fifteen student signatures. After filing, the candidates then campaigned by talking with fellow classmates, hanging posters and giving speeches. Of- ficial balloting concluded campaigns. Two weeks preceding election day, posters were seen in halls, on bulletin boards, and above lockers. Several amusing cam- paign slogans accompanied the posters. Among them were Rex Bell ' s I get things done, Bob Baer ' s Vote for Baer by gum, and Mark Lagomarcino ' s Snoopy comics. Mary Root wears buttons which support her candidates. Tomatoes, lettuce, and carrots are cleverly used by Janine Stout in her campaign speech. Karen Snyder works with other seniors at the election polls. HJ n
