Evening Is Success for Tiger Team and Seniors Homecoming, October 30, was the highlight of the football season as the Tigers easily defeated the Knightstown Panthers, 30 to 19. The theme for all floats, chosen by the Student Council, was comic strip characters. Many classes and clubs entered floats, while officers of other groups rode in cars. Seniors nominated four queen candidates, and the entire student body picked the queen, Mary Wilson. Disbelief and joy are the expressions on Mary Wilson ' s face as she is announced Homecoming queen. Candidates are Claudia Allen, Kathy Wall, and Jean Campbell. Seniors took first in the float contest with the theme We ' ve Got Spirit , as shown by Casper the Friendly Ghost. Beep Beep says the Road Runner, warning opponents to get out of his way. This freshman float took third place. ItY IS , The second place sophomore float features a large figure of Linus, complete with security blanket. 11

Hard Working Students Prepare for Homecoming; Following lunch, the student body participates in a snake dance which travels through downtown and convenes at a pep rally. Shown working on the music department float, Joe Barnard and Rob Beachler are speaking foreign languages to Popeye. Gary Dimett, loyal class worker, is with senior float. He directed Senior Carnival and was a Prom chairman. 10

Successful Senior Carnival Highlights Hobo Day Hobo Day preceded the annual Senior Carnival. After purchasing a 5c Hobo-Day ticket from the senior class, students were permitted to wear hobo costumes to school Friday. After much committee work, the Senior Carnival was held November 11. Profits were used to finance the yearbook. Psychedelic booths and mazes, sheriffs and flower power were seen. Several students were married. Telegrams were sent, fortunes told, novel ties sold, bal- loons shaved, cakes won, and fun was had by all. Hobos Debbie Baker, JoAnn Newman, and Patti Fyfe await their turn in the bread line. Bob Armon flopped down HHS halls in skin diving suit Seniors Jean Campbell, Mike Elliott, Krista Hollenberg, Wearing Colleen Huffine ' s fall Bill Tinkle goofs off with Kathy Wall, and Diana Ulerick eat a hearty lunch.
