Student Activities Probably the most memorable school events have been extracurricular activities. The success of these projects has depended upon preparations made and excitement created by students themselves. Recalling those times, people have remarked, Remember how hard we worked and how much fun it was? All these activities have provided the proper accent to memories of high school years. Evening Is Success for Tiger Team and Seniors Homecoming, October 30, was the highlight of the football season as the Tigers easily defeated the Knightstown Panthers, 30 to 19. The theme for all floats, chosen by the Student Council, was comic strip characters. Many classes and clubs entered floats, while officers of other groups rode in cars. Seniors nominated four queen candidates, and the entire student body picked the queen, Mary Wilson. Disbelief and joy are the expressions on Mary Wilson ' s face as she is announced Homecoming queen. Candidates are Claudia Allen, Kathy Wall, and Jean Campbell. Seniors took first in the float contest with the theme We ' ve Got Spirit , as shown by Casper the Friendly Ghost. Beep Beep says the Road Runner, warning opponents to get out of his way. This freshman float took third place. ItY IS , The second place sophomore float features a large figure of Linus, complete with security blanket. 11
