It seems that Laurie had been away to college and had learned a little about psychology. Then she decided to use her knowledge of the subject on her family. At last, the family tired of it and decided they must teach Laurie a lesson and stop the nonsense. The scene in which the family staged the purge dance before Laurie and her boy friend was both funny and most effective.
