THE EPITOME GOZ'2?IlIQ1'Cf3! qyepazffzfnezzf HE commercial department of Hagerstown High School has grown this year from an enrollment of sixty-seven to eighty-three students. Each month award tests have been talqen hy the typewriting classes and cer- tihcates and bronze, silver, and gold pins given tu those writing for nfteen min- utes with a limited number of errors. There have been awarded forty-eight cer- tificates, twenty-two pins for writing forty words a minute, five pins for titty words, and three sixty word pins. ln the boolqlqee minor class each student acted as booltlqee ver for a Grocer the l ff' 5 iirst semester. During the second half year's work. each worked on a model set of books for a partnership which sold hay. grain, and coal. 'llhe beginning shorthand class spent most of the year learning the funda- mentals of Gregg Shorthand in order to read and write it accurately. The ad- vanced shorthand class worked on speed and transcription problems the first half year. 'l'he second semester, these students formed a class in Uftice Practice.
