THE EPITOME Glass of '51 HE class of '31 entered Hagerstown High School with an enrollment of sixty-three pupils in '27 and received a good paddling the very first day. They gave a successful chapel program and held two class parties during the year. The Freshman basketball team played the Cambridge City Freshmen, beating them in an overtime game ZZ to 18. In '28, with an enrollment of sixty-two pupils, they re-entered school very much the better for having once been Freshmen. At the lirst class meeting Mr. McNary and Miss Leaird were elected sponsors, and the following officers were also elected: Emma Allread, presidentg Bernice Hormel, vice-president: and Doris Paddock, secretary-treasurer. A class party was held at the first of the year, and a very interesting chapel program was conducted by this class March 15, Several students dropped out of school, and several new ones came in, so that at the beginning of the second semester there were sixty-one members in the Sopho- more class.
