S. entered upon this life Septemlver 7, 1023, and passed away in a sudden and unexpected manner .Xpril 27. l92o, aged -l years. 'l'hrough her childhood she was highly commended hy all who knew her. Of her it could he said. Tu virtue she owes every triumph that she knew. She went into the fight valiantly and tliere stood on honoralile terms. The first year of her life was one of great success. A-XS the second year came she took on new responsibilities and new ac- tivities, always doing what was asked of her. She passed without a quiver through the ordeals of a sophomore life. coming out from under that lmurden with a new courage and a new zest in her high school life. ln the third year of her life she gave a wonderful play entitled, The Charm School. At the end of the year came the time when she was to give a reception. 'l'hose who attended thought that it was the most wonderful reception ever given. XYhen she was grown, she took on the ways of an adult and conducted herself in a seeinly manner. She indulged in all athletics, winning or losing as fate decreed. She took part in all mental contests, debates, and orations, giving to the school the best that was in her. Cn April eighth and ninth, she put on a clever class play called XYhen a Feller Needs a Friend. She was assisted hy Mr. Linehack, of Greentield. She showed her religious spirit in every connection, where opportunity was given for her services in Girl Reserves or in Hi-Y. Death came suddenly without any signs of weakness or illness. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving faculty and three younger sisters, Fresh- man, Sophomore and hlunior, all living in Hagerstown High School. Funeral services will be conducted in the High School Auditorium, April 27. 1926, at 8 :OO I2. M., lYilliam P. Deering. President of Qakland City College, olliciating. Page nineteen
