Third Grade Informals ' FJUttST ‘Bicycle A numerous group of activities make up the third grade. While most are in a given classroom, often there are pro- jects involving students going room to room, in the hall or out of the building. One project involving third and fourth graders that helped a good cause was the M.S. Read-A-Thon. Students read books and got sponsors to pledge mon- ies for each book read. A total of 73 readers went through 732 books earning $885.52 to help solve the problems of Multiple Sclerosis. Gloria Allen won a bicycle. Steven Ma- tuszak won a watch. Lisa Barcomb won a stuffed dog. Mrs. Carol Monroe representing McDonalds the agency that gave the bike was on hand for the awards day. Special certificates went to David Ryther and Bethanne Baldwin for reading 24 books each. Denise Shattuck raised $43.70 and Michael Blazejewski raised $47.50 and also were acknowledged.
