Gfass Jfistory We the class of '58 started in 1945 when we entered Kindergarten, under the supervision of Mrs. Madaline Manfred. We all remember Mrs. Manfred and the wonderful start in life that she gave to us. We started our school life in the Odd Fellow’s Hall. Later on we went to the firehouse, over Frank's Market, in the old school, and then the last step, into the new building. As a seventh grade class we started out with 49 members. During that year we began our climb to achieve our goals. That year we elected Judy Washburn as our Class President. In the eighth grade we had 52 members. We had new members join our class from Stony Creek, Conklingville, and Long Island. In ninth grade we really began our big step toward our goal as seniors. We started out with 41 members this year. We had lost several but we gained 2 new students from Glens Falls. Our Class President in ninth grade was Mable Ormsby; Joan Clute was Vice President and also Student Council Representative. In tenth grade, we started with 39 members. We had lost only 3. and still had a large class. Our Class President was Betty Sutliff; our Vice President was Mable Morey; and the Secretary was Joan Colson. Our Student Council Repre- sentatives were Joan Traver and Gail Burlett. The candy manager was Joan Clute, our coke manager was David Mooso, and our ice cream manager was David Lesson. As Juniors, (with one more year to go), we had a total of 33 students, al- though we lost 6 members who started out on their own. During the time as Juniors, we were separated into two sections, 11A and 11B. Class officers for each section were: 11A; Lawrence Bennett, President; Danny Andrews, Vice President; and Dorothy Sutliff, Secretary. For 11B we had; Ellen Bovee, Presi dent; Berniece Colson, Vice President; and Judy Washburn as Secretary. For our class projects we had a combined class meeting, and for this meeting we had a separate set of officers. They were: Bob White, President; Lawrence Bennett, Vice President; Janet Eldridge, Secretary; and Gail Burlett was the Treasurer for both sections. Mable Morey and Mable Ormsby represented us in Student Council.
