An operetta was put on by the Glee Club last November contain- ing about forty people. The operetta was called “Enchanted Isle.” Thirty-five people are now in Glee Club and planning to sing at gradua- tion. The girls in Glee Club will sing at the May Festival. HIGH LIGHTS OF THE YEAR i HANDICRAFT CLUB The Handicraft Club was formed under the leadership of Miss Thais English for the purpose of making handicraft articles of interest to the members. Joseph Ready was elected President. Some of the members were: Pearl Ackley Mildred Bennett Mildred Burnham Marion Burnham Richard Burnham Eugene Cromwell George Lunick Stanley Murphy Anna Naatz Bernard Pratt Verna Winslow Esther Baker Blossom Bunzey Robert Dean Gladys Fuller Ernest Gilbert Eleanor Goodness Richard Hurd Jessie Ovitt Alfred Pike Mildred VanDusen Joseph Ready Robert Woodard Dorothy Harris' Leroy Ives Wilford Lillibridge Phoebe Pratt Jack Rolman George VanDusen Lawrence White Marion Naatz The first part of the year was devoted mostly to the making of flowers and baskets using tin cans as a framework. After mid-year examinations most of the girls left Handicraft because of the con- flict with Glee C'ub. The Handicraft croup was then reorganized and voted to make articles entirely from wood. With small vises, coping saws and wood of many shape and sizes the twenty boys remaining set to work. The results of their labor were thi old type napkin rings, small models of men and women, kitchen holders, lamp frames, etc. Most of us enjoyed the Club a great deal and are looking forward to its continuation next year. JUNIOR PROM The class of ’36 of the Hadley-Luzeme High School had a very successful Junior Prom. It was licit! in Tavlor’s Hall May 24, 1935. The hall had been decorated with paper ribbons and apple blossoms under the supervision of Miss Anne O’Brien, class advisor. All ex- penses were covered and seventeen dollars went into the treasury. Brennan This is the second year the school newspaper has been published. It was started under the supervision of Mr. Loveys and has been con- tinued this year under the supervision of Mr. Brennan. The paper has been improved in many ways. The cover design has been improved upon and the cover has most usually been a col- ored one to represent each month. The mistakes in the actual typing have been reduced. Last but not least the size of the paper was se- lected so that the paper could be opened the same as a book. We leave this paper for the rest of the term now and hope in the future it will still be as big a success as it has been in the past. A toast to the success of the school paper next year!
