Childrey Memorial Award is the highest honor which Haddonfield Memorial High School can grant a member of the graduating class. The recipient of this award is chosen by classmates and the faculty on the basis of scholarship, participation in extra-curricular activities, co-operation with the faculty and friendliness with classmates. Susan Johnstone combines the best characteristics of student, editor and leader. Susan was elected to the National Honor Society in her junior year as well as being selected a delegate to the New Jersey Girls' State. Her editorial ability has been demonstrated by her fine work on the Haddon Higher and as editor of the Shield. Susan is the first senior to be valedictorian, D. A. R. Pilgrim and the recipient of the Childrey Award. She also received the unusual distinction of being chosen by the New Jersey D. A. R. as its Good Citizen Pilgrim. The congratulations and good wishes of the faculty and student body go to Susan as she receives this award in recognition of her brilliant high school record. Twe ll f y
