We ended our sophomore year triumphantly with the post season venture ot the concession privileges for the Fourth of Iuly Our third year started with a bang Our football team came out on top with the Group Three trophy besides beating the Colls and Heights in upset games ln keeping with tradition we got a day ott after the Collings wood game As a culmination of a triumphant season we had a no home work night and a bonfire We burned etfigies of our rivals and sang and snake danced Leading us in this memorable year were lack Coulter Presi dent Vincent Del Duca Vice President Kathryn Young Secretary and Betty Morrison Treasurer The magazine campaian and the Springfield Gym Exhibition our first money making pro1ects on a large scale netted us a real sum to add to our account ln the spring our prominence in the sports world was furthered by Bill Dosts winning the National High School Championship in the lltty yard freestyle swim This was the tirst honor of its kind in the history of our school Our next important event was the lunior Prom held on the night of Friday May sixteenth Military decorations glorifying the gym and the rhythmic strains of Phil Vincent s orchestra made 1t a huge success Always original we were the first to give souvenir charms to each girl The charms were The Wallace Brothers Circus the last thing on our third year s program was not so successful financially as it might have been but socially t was a hit We returned as seniors ready to do big things Again we turned out a football team to be proud ot tying tor the Group Three title The proceeds from the concessions at the games swelled our treasury enormously Our affairs lor this banner year were under the able direction ot Bob Birney Class President Adolph Brudzinski Vice President Betty Morrison Treasurer and Mitie Barron Secretary Those complacent senior grins one December morning were the esult ot a record breaking attendance at our exceptionally good senior play Under the direction of Miss Maree G Hillyer our talented amateurs really put over the comedy Iune Mad We were the innovators of the Refresh ment Bar which proved a boon to playgoers Within the month another addition was made to our treasury through the wide sale of Christmas candles One ot the outstanding events in early spring was the German measles plague which spotted manv of our members For a while the absentee sheets looked more like casualty lists the measles did not even spare the cast of Bachelor Born our second senior play This comedy by lan Hay was chalked up beside our first as another hit The Prom came as a climax to a lull and happy year on the evening of Friday May eighth Graduation that solemn and impressive ceremony was the finale ot our high school life With loan Auchter and Angelina lndriso heading our class we passed the first milestone of our careers our High School Days I5 U . . .
