Westermaier, R. Flynn, W. Hudgins, R. Reamer, R. Morris, D. Willingham, F. Fernandez, Mr. Masenheimer, Mr. Stoltz. Mighty Mighty said, Fight, fight, so that's what Coach Panesis's boys did. They played to the best of their abilities but lack of experience and quirks of mis- fortune produced a disappointing season with seven losses and only two wins. The team did provide their fans with many exciting moments of good football. The Sterling and Haddonfield games were both heart- breaking thrillers. Senior co-captains Lou Heckroth, who pushed his way for eight TD's, and Sammy Funch- es, who kicked a perfect conversion record of fifteen for fifteen and the first successful field goal in HHHS for many years, along with junior halfback Mike Di- Marco, were the Garnet's leading scorers. Next year should be brighter as there will be twelve returning lettermen, twice as many as this year. We will lose the talents of fancy runner, Ed Klinck, big defense- axj .. man Dave Robinson, quarterback Rick Madden, Ron Stagliano, Tom Ertle, Larry Gollub, Harold Conaway, and Alvis Vaughn. The l.V. fought with all their might but were over- powered and held to a 2-5 record. Under the guidance of Coach Masenheimer, some outstanding players were developed and readied to move into the varsity positions left by the parting Seniors. The frosh football team of '68 finished their season with an impressive total of nine wins and one loss, which came at the hands of Paulsboro's Raiders , This powerful team beat Collingswood, Washington Town- ship, Haddon Township, and Audubon by shut-outs. Mr. Zubrack's team will make a welcome addition to the j.V. and Varsity teams next year.
