Amsden, M. ne. is i Above: H-K's finest - The Diaper Defense! l The fietd hockey Team ended its 1981 season with a 5-6-5 record, and a 2-6-5 Shoreline record. The loss to Hand of Madison, in the test scheduled game of the season, ruled out further play.. Although failing to qualify for States by a marginal degree, the -Cougars regard their season as a great one. For the season, nine goals were con- tributed by six team players. Laura Lucas, '82, gained the respect of team members for her outstanding seasonal performance, scoring four goals. The team was also thankful for the efforts of deBoer, '82, Keane, '83, Wright, '82, Fletcher, '83, and Pitt, '82, who each pitch- ed in one goal. The two cap- tains are held responsible for the win against Stonington, 1-0. The seniors com- plimented each other nicely, with deBoer scoring off of Wright's assist, thus marking the winning element of the game. With so much ac- complished, the team is sorry to let go of six ex- perienced seniors. ln spite of this loss the team-is proud to announce that tive lettermen will be' returning under the reign of tri-captains, Paula Fletcher, '83, Carolyn Brann, and Tammy Beckwith, Field Hockey 25

I-I-K SHUTS 0 T GIIILFUBD The H-K Varsity Field Hockey Team won its se- cond game in a row, up- ping the record to 3-3-1, with a hard fought victory over a tough Guilford team. Forward Laura Lucas, '82, scored the on- ly goal of the game only minutes into the first half. Laura scored on the cor- ner. She stopped the ball and swung it right in. it was a perfect goal, recalls Senior Captain Bit- ty deBoer. The Cougar team was ready with psyche and high spirits. They were able to hold off Guiifordls strong offense for the remainder of the first half. ln the second period, Guilford came out fighting. H-K mei the challenge, and stopped Guilford's six shots on goal. H-K goalie Holly Swiney, had eleven saves for the game.
