THE onmcui Class Poem UUPWARD AND ONWARDH We were only gobs and rookies when we joined up four years ago, And well aware of all the knocks we'd meet with friend and foe. But still we held our heads up high in honor of our school, And as we trudged along the Way we sought the Golden Rule. We won a rating with every term which helped the years to fly, And when We won our Senior stripes our hopes soared to the skyf For soon We'd be commissioned in our struggle through the years: XVe'd leave behind dear H. H. S. with joyful, loving tears. For H. H. S. was good to us from start right to the end, And each of our commanders proved to be our loyal friend. They strove to teach us right from wrong while coming through the ranks And now we will salute them with a real good hearty thanks' No more we'll linger in the rooms or Wander through the halls. For the time has come when we must go: we go where duty calls. The bugle has sounded forth the note that echoes through the glen, Lift up your heads, make firm your step, march onward, you are men! For we knew not what was coming, There was no way that we could tell, Whatever the future may be H. H. S. days will serve us well. The friends we have found here are fme and true, And their memories will always remain: Seniors are going but they'll be true And we hope they'll return again. Now, we're entering the rush of the old cruel world, And our paths may be far, far apart: So goodbye H. H. S. we are leav-ing now, But your love will remain in our hearts.
