1972 mustang contents administration faculty classes athletics organizations favorites activities advertisements foreword As editors of the 1972 MUSTANG we feel that we have obtained the understand- ing of leadership, cooperation, and re- sponsibility. We would like to thank Mrs. LaFleur for devoting her time and efforts toward guiding us in the right direction. We hope you, the reader of our yearbook, will receive as much enjoyment as we have in preparing it. dedication It is with a great deal of pride that the Year- book Staff dedicates this 1972 Mustang to Mr. and Mrs. Krumm. Mr. and Mrs. Krumm have devoted their lives to young people. They have both served unselfishly as teachers for many years. In addition, the staff would like to thank Mr. Krumm for his time and efforts in working with the yearbook staff for a number of years. We, the staff, sincerely hope that this year- book will provide you with many moments of pleas- ure in the years to come. annual staff STANDING: Ronnie Hebert - Boy’s Sports, Mike Schexnider - Boy’s Sports, Tom Riggs - Co-Editor, Tonia Penny - Classes, Mona Nunez - Classes, Gwen Reasoner - Girl’s Sports, Phillip Lowery - Advertisements. In addition, ! would like to compliment the stu- dents on their many achievements during this past school year. We are fortunate to have such an out- standing group of young people. 1 would like to thank the people of Hackberry for their help in making the 1971-72 school year at Hack- berry High School a year to be proud of. It is my sincerest wish that the years to come will be even more successful. PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Our 1971-72 school session was, in my opinion, a good school session. I take this opportunity to thank our community, our School Board, our Superintendent, our School Board Office Staff, our faculty and staff, and last but by no means least (for it is for them that all of our work is directed), our students for the co- operation, help, and understanding that has been ex- tended to me during this past school session. Once more, I compliment our Yearbook Staff and Sponsor for their efforts toward providing us with a yearbook. I am sure that we will all cherish it for many years to come. Finally, I offer the following thoughts to all who read this message. Today comes only once, and never again re- turns. - Schopenhauer If you are alive and happy today, that is enough. Tomorrow never comes until it is today. There is no reason why each succeeding day should not be as hap- py, or happier, than your yesterdays ...” Sherman elementary faculty Kindergarten Helper MRS. It is wholly a plan for training in the practical mechanics of government. Applications of the principles of democratic government are made in every possible way. The Constitution and the statutes of the state of Louisiana are the pattern from which the fundamental law of Pelican State has been developed. Pelican State should be regarded as being a mythical fifty-first state with a constitution, statutes, and ordinances constructed by its citizens to govern themselves. ffa father-son banquet Officer's Reports ■nRrai Book Award Guest Speaker Plaque - Seniors Honorary Chapter Farmers Certificates of Appreciation The F.F.A. has been a very active organization this year.
