The Mustang FOREWORD We have come to Hackberry High School to prepare ourselves for life. We have done much more than studying textbooks. We have played, laughed, danced, gone to pep meet- ings, football games, romanced, and crammed for tests. What we have before us is a portrayal of the molding of our young lives, pictures of buildings, classes, honors, football stars, beauties. It has been difficult to bring out the spirit that has stirred us to these accomplishments; nevertheless, we know that our destinies have been shaped here. May we have that profundity of thought and vision as we leaf through these pages to read into them the spirit of Hackberry High School, and having done so, work a little harder and smile a little broader wherever destiny leads us. CO-EDITOPS Teresa and Gail DEDICATION We, the Annual Staff of 1968-69, dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Carlton McFarlain. He gave us his best as both a teacher and a friend. We know that wherever he goes, his warmth and concern will touch the hearts of many as it has touched us. MUSTANG STAFF We wish to thank the students, faculty, and members of the staff for their effort, cooperation, and hard work. We have en- joyed working on the yearbook and ap- preciated the opportunity to be a part of the yearbook staff. Gail Teresa Glenda Joe Deannie Mike Diane Contents Hackberry High School ADMINISTRATION ti I School Board Member Mrs. Charles A. Riggs The school year of 1968-69 was a good year at Hackberry High School. It was a pleasure to have served as your principal. I wish to express my sincere appreciation to all who have helped and cooperated to make the year successful. I look forward to the 1969-70 school year and the challenge of playing a part in the preparation of our youth for a successful adult life. I urge everyone at Hackberry High School to put forth maximum effort, to organize well, and to cooperate, for whatever the task may be. I wish to congratulate the Yearbook Staff for their hard work in providing us with a yearbook that we will all cherish for many years to come. JOIN A.
