The English Department accepts the challenge. In our Social Studies Department we are associated with the ability to recognize and analyze the essence of social problems, and to select wisely from varying interpretation and practices. Mathematics serves mankind in many ways. There is little doubt that the well qualified mathematician is in great demand and will continue to be for years to come. The goal of the Science Department is to develop compe- tence in using scientific methods, desirable attitudes, and inter- est and appreciation, as well as to teach the basic subject matter and principles. The homes of America's future are in the hands of her youth. It is this which is the prime concern of the Home Ec. JUANITA LANDRY English B.A., McNeese The Industrial Arts Department is designed to offer the stu- dent opportunities to learn and put into practice the art of all phases of carpentry. The Business Education Department prepares students for a position in the business world or for further education in business. The performances of the Music Department bring music to the whole student body and to the community and make a valu- able contribution to the cultural life of our school. It is the aim of the Physical Education Department that each student should have greater respect for his own body, what it is able to do, and have the habit of keeping it at its best. By conducting a sound, professional testing program, dtir guidance counselor is instrumental in aiding the student to know in which direction his abilities lie.
