The members are pupils chosen because of their service towards the school. Presiding at every meeting are Mr. Franzen, the Principal, and Mr. Phillips, representing the Teachers' Interests Committee. The Student Cabinet meets whenever Mr. Franzen wishes the opinion of the student body about a question which may concern the school. Some of the problems discussed by the Student Cabinet have been traflic in corridors. modernization of the lunch- room. and a revised method of allowing service credits. At the turn of the year the duties of Mrs. Cahn, adviser of this newly formed Inter-Boro Discussion Group of Haaren. were turned over to Mr. Mar- golis. the present adviser. Bernie Moore. George Lai and Charles Hickland were elected President. Vice President. and Secretary, respectively. Meetings at other schools were arranged to discuss with groups or stu- dents. such topics as the Mayoralty Campaign, Technological Assistance, Taft Hartley Act, the UNESCO fat the UN Buildingj, Censorship. Communism and other questions of current interest. When the group was handicapped by too few members, a drive for mem- bership tripled the attendance. Dztwmzm Grow 10
