The Swimming Team started the hall rolling hy defeating opponent after opponent, and finishing in the top tour of the Manhattan P.S.A.l... Swimming League. The mermen's record was 8 and 3 as compared to the 2 and 5 ot the year hetore. The team also qualitied in the 200-yard relay and the 220-yard freestyle events at the All-City Championship lVleet which was held at N.Y.U. this term. Juan Moya, the teamss high scorer and most valuahle swimmer, placed tourth in the 220-yard event at the All-City lVleet. The squad was continually sparlced hy its ahle captain Richard Climo. Although the squad had only played .500 hall the previous year, Mr. Vvertheim was deter- mined to hetter that record. He finally got together a group ot hoys and started to have worlcouts in the Gym. Slowly the team got into shape, hut the average height was shorter than that ot the term hetore. Vvhat the team laclced in height they made up in speed and teamworlc, which was shown throughout the season. During the scrimmage games with other schools the squad showed great promise.
