LEST WE FGRGET How well we rememlaer that larislx Septemlaer morning when we were escorted to Haaren hy a pair ot newly tound triends . . . truant otticersl Seriously spealting, though, we wonqt torget the trials and trilau- lations ot those tirst hectic days . . . ditterentiating loetween the up and down staircases, tinding our classrooms in a space ot three minutes, and getting accustomed to rising at the cracli ot dawn. Soon, however, at the end ot our treshman year, we hecame acquainted with the Hdolsu and Hdonytsn ot our Alma Mater, and we tound ourselves loolcing torward to a hright tuture as Sophomores. Sophomore year tound it hard tor us to lceep our poclcets jingling due to high pressure salesmanship trom our CLO. delegates. Not meaning to he impolite, hut tor some unexplainalole reason, we avoided coming into contact with the new Dean, Mr, Shapiro. The extra-curricular activities still heing discontinued, we dreamed ot a dance with Julia Richman or Vvashington lrving. However, the ahsence ot these activities acquainted us with a previously unlcnown medium, homeworlc. Those to whom homeworlc registers a total hlanlc, it is the worlc done during the otticial period. Junior year tound some ot us eligihle tor Arista memhership, while others made good as CLQ. oltlicers. About this time lVlr. Vvertheim lorought to the Haaren lunchroom the so-called Hcollege atmospheref' This year also marlced the resumption ot extra-curricular activities. Among the highlights ot the return ot these activities was the reorganization ot our teams, and the G.O. dances. Having now heen juniors tor a time too long to rememlaer, we attained the distinction ot heing ahle to recognize teachers from people. Senior yearl Vvith it came a sense ot superiority over the lowly freshman, commonly reterred to as the Hwee-ones.H Symhol ot this supe- riority was the Senior chapeau, adorned with anything trom Coolidge huttons to ttuorescent lighting. Being a Senior also had its drawhaclfs. Many ot us had to put the hite on our parents to cover the cost ot gradua- tion. There were pictures, prom ticlfets, dues. rings. and other expenditures. Finally, with the settlement ot our tinancial problems, we saw good times ahead . , . Senior Day. the Bear Mountain outing, and last hut not least the Hpromwl With graduation a near reality, and all the ahove gone hetore us. itts not lneen too had.

Officers: Secretary Johnson, Treasurer Krause, President Lewis, V. Pres. Askew, Mrs. Sfrunsky, Adviser. SENIOR The Senior Council was on the hall this term. Beiore the term had started, we had new three-inch Senior hultons. The Senior hats were really glamorous this term, with everything lirom model jets to T. V. sets on them . . . A ring was on every Senioris linger . . . The Seniors 4-Ivan-tl some real money hounds this term: Arthur Lewis, President: Sammy Aslcew, Vice-President, Theodore Johnson, Seczrelaryg fitto Krause, Treasurer. Every time you would turn around a hand was in your pocliet. and heliore you Could Call ior help, they had a receipt made out in your name. The Senior outing, which was at Bear lviountain, was a real success. The Prom Committee, headed hy Rohert Ranlcin, Peter Grau. Arthur Lee, and Nicholas Cvinex, had a rough time collecting, but the Seniors tell in line and enjoyed a grand time at the Henry Hudson Hotel.
