Occasionally fhe silence would be brolren by a group of seniors laughing hilariously as fhey observed us fhrough I'he door. Suddenly we heard a sharp spine-fingling voice. If was one Docfor Herman Manfell. He reminded us of fhe responsibilifies we young aduII's had. His final words we shall nof easily forgef: . . . And fellows, if you ever need a Iiffle advice or help, due fo some difficulfy or frouble, consider fhe faculfy, your feachers, as personal friends. Come fo us and WE'LL GIVE IT TO YOU! Affer fhese words of cheer, we loosened up a bif. We observed wifh a pang of disappoinfmenf, fhe Iaclr of females in fhe school, and as fhe horrid realizafion came fo us, fears could be seen in fhe eyes of some. If found mosf of us faking regenfs examinafions for fhe firsf fime. Those upper fermers who had experienced fhe ordeal before were in no way sfingy in fheir advice. Some advocafed clever mefhods of passing fhe exam wifh gyp sheefs concealed perhaps under a callous on fhe palm of fhe hand, or faffooed under fhe finger nails. WILL WE EVER FORGET . . . Field Day, when fhe school casf aside ifs books and devofed ifs fime fo afhlefics. How proud we were when fhe sfudenfs beaf fhe faculfy in fhe annual Sfudenf-Faculfy soff ball game. WILL WE EVER FORGET . . . our senior year, when freshmen and midgefs became synonymous in our speech. We referred fo freshmen as fhe liffle ones Barnum's pygmies, whichever suifed our comic fasfe. When we were nof faunfing fhe liffle ones we were busily adiusfing ornamenfs on our recenfly acquired senior hafs. Remember fhaf poor fellow who gof a concussion when he fried fo add a felevision sef? Some may look back af our senior year wifh pain, remembering fhe high finance each sfudenf wresfled wifh.
