Now you can see where Kenny ge+s 'I'hose peculiar ideas for Tangled Wires. Despile +hese oufward displays of confusion fhe BROADCAST has won many prizes in Journalism compefiiions among high schools of +he coun'l'ry. Praise 'loo goes +o Mr. Richsfone, +he financial adviser, who makes us buy or else. And whal can you buy for a nickel +ha+ will give you as much pleasure as +he BROADCAST?

If was regenfs' week and fhe school in ifs silence awed us, fhe Iiffle freshmen. We spoke in whispered fones. We were ushered info 'I'he audi- forium and kepf waifing for whaf seemed hours. Occasionally fhe silence would be brolren by a group of seniors laughing hilariously as fhey observed us fhrough I'he door. Suddenly we heard a sharp spine-fingling voice. If was one Docfor Herman Manfell. He reminded us of fhe responsibilifies we young aduII's had. His final words we shall nof easily forgef: . . . And fellows, if you ever need a Iiffle advice or help, due fo some difficulfy or frouble, consider fhe faculfy, your feachers, as personal friends. Come fo us and WE'LL GIVE IT TO YOU! Affer fhese words of cheer, we loosened up a bif. We observed wifh a pang of disappoinfmenf, fhe Iaclr of females in fhe school, and as fhe horrid realizafion came fo us, fears could be seen in fhe eyes of some. WILL WE EVER FORGET . . . fhe monfhs wenf by speedily for some and fediously for ofhers. By I947 we had gone fhrough basic and were habifuafed fo high school life. Mosf of us learned fhe Iiffle dark secrefs and infrigues of fhe school. We no longer wondered why fhe rooms facing fhe shellac facfory always had fhe windows closed or why vulfures flew in circles around fhe school. WILL WE EVER FORGET . . . Doc Brown sfand- ing maiesfically in rubbers and umbrella in hand, shouf- ing above fhe falling wafer, Rub ii' in, rub if in, boys. I'II feach you how fo falce a shower yef! . . . Murray Phillips sfrumming his guifar in fhe audiforium and singing in a barifone, EI Rancho Grande, while fhe sfudenf body were af affenfion singing The Sfar- Spangled Banner. And fhe fime a caf exifed from Mrs. Dardenne's organ during Mr. Franzen's inform- afive few words in fhe assembly and saf on fhe organ and Iisfened affenfivelyg affer which he ioined fhe school in singinq Here's fo Dear Old Haaren.
