DEDICATION The traditions they have established will always re- ain a memorial to the class of ’70 but the annual staff wishes to commemorate them further by dedicating the nineteen hundred seventy Markseter to the first class who has spent its whole high school life at Marksmith and Lasseter. In September of the year nineteen hundred and sixty- five a new breed of people was born, “... and the seeds of greatness were planted within.” These seeds were to develop into unique individuals whose accomplish- ments would awe people for generations to come. Upon entering the spring of their high school lives at Mark Smith and Lasseter, these special students were instilled with noble ideals and worthy goals by princi- pals, counselors, teachers. and coaches. With this en- couragement, the class of ’70 began to distinguish itself as a proud harmonious group. Some were outstanding in scholarship, some in athletics, and all in school spirit. Learning not only from their outstanding feats, but, also from their failures they gradually reached maturity. As the season of autumn, the harvest season, drew near the Seniors realized that their dreams had material- ized, due to their independent efforts and through the magic of the cooperation of all. Also, they had dis- covered who they were and what they were capable of doing. Plans for the spring of a new life began to un- fold in their minds. All would follow their own ambi- tions—the world of business, college, or homemaking. But always, the Seniors will remember the times they spent together when the days seemed years long and ethers when the years seemed to be rushing by—the struggles and the happiness. Yes, Seniors ... “Those Were The Days.”
