Signs of preparation begin to show themselves as reality of the approaching future shakes this group into action. The juniors find themselves caught in a time of indecision, with one hand reaching forward to the obscure future as the other hand tries to keep the security of the past close by. Those with a seriousness of purpose be- gin to come forth as separate individuals.

School life, academic and social, influences the development of the student. He comes in contact with people like himself and peo- ple entirely different from himself. His mind is expanded, he cultivates a desire to learn, and he wants a clear perception of the truth. His whole being is affected. He is taught facts and skills; he learns obedience; he is given understanding; he receives wisdom.
