The debate teams attended several tournaments throughout the year to prepare themselves for the annual UIL meet held on April 3. Four debate teams consisting of two girl's and two boy's teams presented their opinions of this year's issue, resolved: that nuclear weapons be controlled by an international organization. Miss Olita Parman and Mr. James Fanning, sponsors helped them throughout the year and accompanied the teams on out-of-town tournaments.
