Consisting of over 30 elected representatives from the student body, the Student Cabinet works with the administration to pro- mote a feeling of harmony among the students. Some of the members are class officers while others are representatives from each organization in school. Sponsored by Mrs. Nancy Babbitt, Mr. Robert Bupp, and Miss Olita Parman, Cabinet members meet monthly to plan and discuss school activities. Two major annual activities are Homecoming in the fall and the literary banquet each spring. This year in co- operation with FFA, the Cabinet introduced Tommy Toro, who appeared at all home football games. Also this year, the Student Cabinet promoted dress up day every Friday. An increased interest in journalism and the Brahma Round-Up this year resulted in two classes. All journalism students work on the news- paper in addition to regular class work. For each paper two students serve as issue edi- tors. This method gives everyone an op- portunity to work at the print shop at least once during the year, For many years the Brahma Round-Up has been a member of the Interscholastic League Press Conference and this year joined the National Scholastic Press Association, Both organizations offer helpful suggestions and criticisms. In 1938 the Brahma Round- Up became affiliated with Quill and Scroll, international honorary organization for high school journalists. This charter was renewed in the spring of 1963 and has been active ever since. King High completed its 1964 football season on November 6 and heartbreaking de- feat combined with joyous victories etched their way into the memories of KHS students, with Miller, Victoria, Carroll, and Ray High Schools each initiating the Brahmas into the North Zone of District 14-AAAA.. Any be- liefs that the Bulls did not belong to such a rugged class of footballers, however, was im- mediately disproved by a hard-fighting, de- voted, well-organized KHS team, despite a one win - three loss conference record. William Webb rushes the Brahma ball with Carroll's men on his tail. Carroll clung to a first quarter lead in one of the season's most thrilling games. Ben Cortez carries the Brahma ball for yardage while Alice follows. Alice vowed to drive the bulls off the field, but were disappointed. Miller stops yardage on Brahma 35 yard line.
