Mathematics Mrs. Corbin explains the proof of a theorem to the class While Cindy West and Gary Bowden practice on problems. Various courses in mathematics are offered at King High to help students make the most of the growing opportunities in this field. Included among these subjects are algebra, trig- onometry, plane and solid geometry, and commercial arithme- tic. Arts Today increasing numbers of students are realizing the im- portance of mastering a foreign language. At King High, Latin and Spanish are offered. In Spanish classes, the student learns to read, write, and speak the language. The two years of Latin are devoted to laying the foundation of the language from the standpoint of grammar, and vocabulary. Speech offers an excellent op- portunity for students who are seeking poise and self-assurance in formal speaking. Journalism covers all phases of news writ- ing - news coverage, sports writing, editorial writing, ad- vertising, and creative writing.
