Recognition Panther Honors Two Who Care Within the ranks of today's teaching profession, there is a growing number of educators who believe that learning is a total experience, encompassing much more than books and blackboards. This year's PANTHER staff recognizes tvvo teachers vvho exemplified this philosophy throughout the year. A class with lvlrs. Carmen Escobar, where song, dance, and the click of castanets were all part of the studies, was never dull. l-ler presence at club meetings, football games, and fiestas'l was something students eagerly anticipated, as she brought her ovvn brand of warmth and humor to each activity. lvlr. John Turner gained the admiration of Plant's entire student body as he made 'The Band with the Golden Sound truly number one. This teacher shovved that he cared through endless hours of planning and practice vvith his students. Each evening last fall this soulful director could be found in Dads' Stadium choreographing intricate half-time routines. l-lis sincerity and concern for Plant l-ligh School made him a student favorite. ,ml f ,.
