Football provided an exciting center of activity for '58-'59. At our first game Plant High students' faces glowed with reflected light of the Panther Flame , as our Dad's Stadium mortgage went up in smoke. The Plant High Panthers canit be beat! Our many successful pep rallies helped to make this cheer come true, for students enthusiasm played a great part in our team's success.

Stepy own mm H25 Bridge Train trips to out-of-town games were greeted with cnthusiasm by students. Pep rallies were livened with the intro- duction of clever, laughable skits pre- sented by the cheerleaders. Pantherettes Linda Brown and Doris Dyche place posters and beat signs around to arouse school spirit and spark good game turnouts. The cheerleaders went all out to give a bang-up pep rally before the Chamherlain game. Plant's cowboys, portrayed by varsity cheerleaders, really scalped the chiefs, played by the J.V. cheerleaders. ,,.4,., ' V -.fa ' J., H25 . . . 30 . . .50, I think thafs right. Pantherette, Pat Webb, sells programs at football games in order to raise money for the athletic department.
