llglrl :af C PHIL PETERs ff' Miss G1 ADYS ANTHONX History and literature have made the knights of former days appear to us as glamorous per- sonages of splendid character noble ideals and high courage who possessed the ability and de sire to organize their people into strong enough groups to defy oppressive authority and to hold back their invading enemies Today our young people are re enacting the legends in their own viays They are distinguishing between right and wrong and they are doing right in the r al situations of life This Plant annual will recall to them memories of happy but worth while days that they spent here learing to act by doing In days of old When Knights Were Bold the story tellers summed up in one heroic man all the virtues of the time Today life is not so simple and unified countless varieties of heroes fill the pages of our modern tales of knighthood At Plant every citizen helps to formulate our concept of a good citizen and as each one practices these qualities he is truly living and enjoying to the fullest the princi ples of knlghthood VL hen knight hood was in flower the highborn knight faeed wonderful and impossible adsentures in vshieh there was more faney than reality Our modern knights may be eounted on to fate stern realities with the determin ation to luxe pure speak true right wrong follow the King ,, Mus lVlARIORIl Rom R1 soix
