ching ln September, 1947, seventy-five wide-eyed students fumbled around the classrooms of Gwynn Park High School, meeting new friends from Baden and Brandywine Elementary Schools. We were thrilled at the ex- pectation of spending six wonderful years at the relatively new school. During this first year we presented to the school three plays: The King's Big Toe , The Patch-Work Quilt , and Billy's First Date which left them all laughing and very much impressed. When the next year rolled around, we were all proud to find that we had advanced to the eighth grade. This was the year that we welcomed Melvin Gotshall to our Class. The next year we were freshmen. This was the year we decided which courses we would follow during the next four years of high school. This was the year we made our first entry into the Senior High Play Contestg we presented Mother Walks Out . During this year we welcomed Martha Ingle and Doyle Funkhouser who proved to be assets to our class. In our sophomore year we undertook the project of putting on the Harvest Dance, which has become an annual affair for the sophomore class. As the end of the year was drawing near, we gave the graduation reception in honor of the Seniors. , One section of our class. 1947 8
