£ Fneuwul Gwinn High's 1967-68 school year will be remembered for its highlights. Homecoming will be remembered for the huge pep rally and bonfire, the colorful floats, the crowning of Queen Susie Jackson, the defeat of Norway at the Homecoming Game, and the successful Homecoming Dance. Fortunately, no player has to remember the 1967 football year through a serious injury, even though there was a lot of rugged play in the 3-5 season. GHS was named first runner-up for the UP Sportsmanship Award, which we won the two previous years. The Student Council added to the year by sponsoring a Christmas Dance, and a Valentines Dance where Carol Francis was crowned Gwinn High Sweetheart. We hope that this yearbook will help you remember those highlights that made the school year a success. Editor In Chief----Lynne Davis Associate Editor — Debbie Anderson

IN DEDICATION TO Mrs. Katherine Muerecke and her husband Paul The editor and staff of the 1968 Gwinner have chosen to expand their territory of inclusion this year to be able to dedicate the book to two people who have spent much of their lives in educating students in the Gwinn area. Usually the dedication is to someone who has contributed greatly to the success of the high school. Mrs. Katherine Muerecke. guidance woman for the high school, has spent the past 16 years in the Gwinn Public Schools, and has had a con- siderable effect on the lives of many young people in the Gwinn area. We dedicate this issue to her. and to her husband, Paul, who is a fourth-grade teacher at the Gilbert Elementary School. Mr. Muerecke began teaching in Gwinn schools in 1924, taught two years, left for business purposes until 1936, and has been teaching in the elementary schools of Gwinn since then. Between these two extremely dedicated teachers, they have given a total of 53 years to education, which ought to be near some record. We, as students in the Gwinn Public Schools, thank them.
