1987 Homecoming began with a growl and ended with a roar. Our theme was The Danger Zone. Monday was pretty quiet considering the excitement of the event. Tuesday was Button-Ups, Oxford, and Roper Day. Lockers were decorated and the halls began to have an orange and black glow of streamers and signs. Wednesday was Tiger Day. Everyone wore orange, black, and white with sunglasses and bandanas. We were plan- ning to chew up those Goldbugs. Thurs- day was Jogging Suit Day ' Even the teachers participated in this event. Friday exploded Everyone wore orange and black again. This was Spirit Day. Many were covered from head to toe with rib- bons, buttons, and tatoos. Many girls were wearing their mums. During the pep rally at 2:30, the Homecoming Queen and candidates were announced, along with the winners of the Baby Face con- test. Jacki and Mick were crowned as the Baby Faces. The door decoration winner was Mr. Wilgus' second hour class. The sophomores got lucky and won the hall decoration and spirit contest. Congrats! At 3 p.m. the pep rally continued downtown. Guymon got a big taste of our true spirit. The game that night was quite an experience. In the first quarter, heavy rains drenched the fans and players. It was so sudden, everyone got soaked. Our queens also got wet. To end the absolute- ly unusual evening, Guymon readjusted Alva's reputation by beating them 31 toO.
