This year God took from us two very special people. On Dec. 9, 1979 Robbi Strutton and John Hintergardt were taken from us. Robbie and John enjoyed life and all that God had given them and were loved by all their friends and family. They will be sorely missed by everyone; may we always reflect on the happy and good things that we remember about them. Her future plans are to get out of town and later work. “Timothy’s” hobbies are traveling, swim- ming, reading, and being with friends. BRENT BAUER’S activities during school included band, golf, manager of the football team, and Ski Club. His future plans are to attend P.S.U. or OU and then farm. Brent’s hobbies are waterskiing, snowskiing, and riding motorcy- cles. MARY DENISE BELLAR participated in choir, FHA sec- retary, FTA, Girl Scouts, and teacher’s aide. Neci plans to go to beauty school. Bubba enjoys dancing, singing, being with people, and working. “Go for it” is Neci’s favorite saying. CARLA BIRDSILL was in N.H.S., O.H.S., and Who’s Who during school. She was vice-president of her senior class and was a cheerleader. Birdie” enjoys swimming, bike- riding, and skiing. LANA BOBBITT participated in French Club, FHA, ICE, and STUCO representative during school. “Indian” plans to move to the mountains in Colorado. Terry enjoys volleyball, tennis, hiking, camping, playing pool, ping-pong, and work- ing on small intricate little things like models. Band, flag girl, class treasurer, STUCO, golf, FTA, N.H.S., and French Club were the activities of SHERRI BUCK during school. Sherri plans to become a technician or a computer engineer. DUANE CAMPBELL plans to attend college or vo-tech school and major in architectural engineering. He partici- pated in band, stage band. French Club, and publications while in school. Impressive Ceremony Reveals New Honor Society Members Of Jr. High 133 NJHS Reflects The Past And Enlightens The Future Junior High National Honor Society is chosen on the basis of those with a B average then by faculty vote. Some of the activities of this group during the year were: teacher recognition day in which all the National Honor Society students give apples and cookies to the teachers; secondly, they have a leadership day in which all the National Honor Society students take over as teachers, secretaries, principals, librarians, and counsel- ors; and third, the members help out with the new student orientation in the fall. With Library Club 1979-80 student library aide was Michael Nelson. He helped the libarians keep the library neat so that the students could find the references they needed for their book reports. They also kept all the latest paperbacks, magazines, and newspapers for student and faculty enjoyment. Another function of the library staff was to keep all the audio-visual material repaired and in working condition for the teachers to use at any time. Our library had an up-to-date collection of records for classroom use. We were very proud of our media center and the work that Mrs. Nelson and her aides did to keep us well informed. Rodeo Club: Reflecting The Long Ropes And The Hard Falls The members of the 1979-80 High School Rodeo Club were: Luke Stephenson, Billy Helm, Tate Cobb, Tammy Green, Earl Helm, Ray Paul, and Todd Lewis. Debate Debate is a process which in- volves reason, logic, application of evidence, and speaking to de- termine the best solution to a stated problem in which both the affirmative and negative sides are advanced by different debate teams. Competition in debate tour- naments included a variety of individual events: extem- poraneous speaking, prose interpretation, poetry inter- pretation, humerous and dramatic interpretation, original and standard orato- ry. Competition is also held in humorous and dramatic duet acting. Participants in the Forensics’ program traveled to Panhandle State University and Northwest- ern State University. Reflecting Back On Their Works This year Mrs. Sherbon, our sponsor had two art clubs. The of- ficers for the 8th and 9th grade club were: Maria Countryman- President; Beth Barnes-Vice- president; Starla Clemans-Secre- tary; Julie Parsley-Treasurer; Molly Bird-Parliamentarian; Me- ganne Pracht- Social; and Tana Wood-Representative. He did a tremendous job of maintaining the grounds on all the school campuses, and through his efforts Salyer was remod- eled and is now a fine facility. They did an excellent job in maintaining the junior high building and keeping it in top-notch condition.
