Reading and composition are stressed in the Sophomore English class:s conducted by Miss Myra McClellan. Social Study classes in Guthrie High School teach tolerance and understanding in order that we might live in a world of peace. Courses offered to promote these ideals are: American History, World History, and Problems of American Democracy. These classes are taught by Mrs. H. W. Larkin, Miss Ora Lee Bowles, and Mr. Harry Sockler. We are proud, indeed, of our Industrial Arts department. Mr. Richard Kisnerls wood- work, printing. and drafting classes are always filled to capacity. Beinf an agricultural communit , we are wreatl benefited b the sulendid work ac' l 5 aw Y b .Y I' complished by Mr. Ralph llreessen and the FFA boys in the Vocational Agriculture program. All girls taking Home Economics learn the art of efficient homemaking under the supervision of Miss Louise Burrow. Miss Maxine Campbell has added to our curriculum this year a very fine vocal depart- ment. Mr. Iohn F. Iiuhalts directs our band. Through these classes young people are encouraged to learn and appreciate music. To this splendid group of teachers we acknowledge our sincere gratitude.
