Though We have been going through a crisis, our curriculum has expanded this year. This has enabled every student to have a richer educational ex- perience. One of our newest departments in G. H. S. is the art group. Those fortunate enough to have artistic ability have found a constant source of pride and pleasure as well as an opportunity to do creative Work and study the history of art. To add to all this, the Work has been inspired by the talented instructor, Mrs. Alvin Bradshaw. Increased interest in the professions of medicine and engineering has resulted in great enthusiasm for both the physical and biological sciences. ln this department, Miss Esther Redmond offers physics and chemistry, while Mr. Iven Holes is in charge of biology. One of the largest and most popular departments in our high school is the commercial department. This department fits the student for a vocation. Miss lda Mae Harrow and Mr. Chester Erickson teach classes in typing, shorthand, and bookkeeping. Miss Mary Frances Tedford develops in her Spanish classes an appreciation for the cus- toms and culture of Spanish speaking countriesg hence creating a feeling of good fellowship for our Latin American neighbors. She also teaches classes in Latin l and Il. Training better citizens through mathema ics, by developing the power of concentration in each individual enrcllfd, is the task of Mr. Diehl Craven and Miss listher Redmond. I - l y r . H I r .
