O I-' Q 1 -Q 1 4 4 1 PA f f fs P On October 17, 1955, the tenth annual G. C. Homecoming was held. The course of events began with a parade, which started at the high school, went through Main Street and ended at the new athletic field on the south side of town. The Audubon band, as guest, marched in the parade. The Service Club gave prizes for the best floats and stunts. The winners of the class floats were Sophomores, first: Juniors, secondgand Seniors, third. Miss Brunner's home room placed first in the home room float division and the FHA and FFA float placed second. The game was played well with Guthrie coming out on top 14-0. At half-time the Guthrie and Audubon bands performed. Riding in convertibles, the Queen, Margaret Miller and her attendants, Bethene Ohm, Ardis Covault, Judy Riaski, and Florine Phippen, came onto the field. Captains Jerry Covault and Lyle Linton then crowned Queen Margaret. Immediately following the game, the dance began. The gym was decorated in blue, white and amber. The queen and her attendants descended from their throne of gold and white to begin the dance with the Grand March, Music was provided by Keith Killinger's Orchestra. - 7:-If Page Sponsored by REBS LOCKER TWIRP WEEK Qleen Bruce and Kingloan The woman IS requlred to pay Thls IS the theory on wh1ch the annual Twlrp Week IS based Thls year Twtrp Week was February 6 10 It was part1c1pated 1n by the entlre student body Tw1rp Week has tts own rules and regulauons If someone fa11s to follow these they are placed on the Black Lrst and must pay a penalty The Black Llst LS controlled by the Servlce Club members If they see or hear of a vxo1at1on they may place the vlolator on the 11st Generally II IS the rule for the g1rl to perform the customary courtes1es dunng the week To chmax the week a party was held on Frxday mght The only requ1rement was that gtrls dress 1n boys clothes and boys dress 1n glrls clothes One of the htghhghts of the party was the choosmg of a Kxng and Queen of Twlrp Week Queen Bruce and Kmg Joan were selected by a comm1ttee of teachers on the basls of costume Page Sponsored .by A Sa G FARM SERVICE CO. This year the seniors produced Lost Horizon, a three act play dramatized from James Hilton's novel, which presents the beautiful and highly dramatic story of four people kidnaped and brought to the exquisite but mysterious and world-famous--Shangri- La. The cast and audience were enthusiastic about Lost Horizon. Perhaps, in these days of the atomic bomb, we are all hoping that there really is a Shangri-La!
