A+ re l' ih l'b p sen e l rary has approximafely 36.000 cafalogued books. Off fhe main lobby is 'ihe Pioneer Room. This room was compleiely furnished by Dr. Edwin J. Viclrner and his wife. Berfha Almen Vickner. and houses fhe Almen- Viclrner collecfion of books, now numbering some 4,200 volumes. In +he collection are all fypes of books, selecfed by fhe donors for general culfural and recreaiional reading. Safurday evening of commencemenr weekend, a dinner was given by ihe Greafer Gusfavus Associafion in honor of Counfess BernadoHe. Ber+il, Ambassador Boheman, and ihe 'rwo hundred Iwenfy-six graduafes. The dinner audience of five hundred fiffy was fhrilled when Ambassador Boheman. alfhough nof scheduled Io speak unfil ihe Memorial service Sunday affernoon, asked Dr. Carlson 'For Ihe privilege of 'rhe floor and said, When I drove 'today Through fhe beauliful counfryside beiween Minneapolis and Sf. Pefer, which reminded me so much of many par+s of Sweden, I already fel'r af home. When I look over fhis sea of friendly faces 'thai' feeling has been sfrengfhened.
