Floyd M. Gunn Junior High is number one. To come to this point, many people: students, parents, teachers, staff mem- bers, and administrators, have worked hard since Gunn opened. Through everyoneis efforts, Gunn has built a repu- tation throughout the City and State, a reputation for excel- lence in academics, in sports and in the arts. Trophies line the shelves, overwhelming visi- tors who come to the building. Students load on to buses headed to represent the Gators throughout the area, matching skill and hard work, returning most times victorious, and sometimes having spent the time learning and growing from defeat. But even temporarily defeated, Gators return to find a student body still in total support, and it is this support and this spirit, that makes Gunn Gators Num- ber One. Each day in the halls, in the classrooms, after school, and on the weekend, Gunn stu- dents maintain a mental atti- tude that sets them apart.
