BUILDERS UP THE YEARS Individuals, groups, nations, eras will change, but during the past twenty-five years our classes have not greatly deviated from the path on which they started. To be sure, influences of the ages offer subtle differ- ences, but we never realize they are there until we look back. There has always been and always will be a sameness of spirit and fellowship among the three divisions of Gulf Park-seniors, juniors, and high school. Healthy competition makes each class try to do its best, whether it be in the Held of sports, social life, or studies. Competition is the basis for betterment. As a symbol for everything our college means to the classes, Friendship Oak stands guard over us, wherever we may be. Loyalty, steadfastness, hope, and inspiration have been imbedded into its very limbs by the cere- mony of the seniors giving Friendship Oak, with all its blessings, to the seniors of next year. We, who are just beginning to open the door of a new experience, under- stand and need the guidance that is given to us. Thus looking upward to our teachers, the classes hope to find the knowledge that we, as builders of a new age, will need.
