2 EEE MATH SCIENCE BENEFIT FROM NEW TEACHERS AND EQUIPMENT Two new instructors have joined the instructional staff of the Math Science Division. The new instructors are Mr. Dean Mitchell who is teaching mathematics and Mr. David Craven, a physics teacher. The division is now supplying advanced mathematics classes with Hewlett-Packard calculators. These electronic instruments are great time savers, eliminating much of the manual calculations.

ENGLISH SOCIAL SCIENCE DIVISION GETS NEW INSTRUCTORS, EQUIPMENT, AND COURSE CHANGES Three new instructors have joined the English Social ocience Division. They are: Sharon Stover from Charlotte; Elizabeth C. Collier, formerly of McDowell Tech; and Ronald G. Hughes, a current doctoral candidate in psychology at UNC-G. The Speech Department has new tape recording and video-tape equipment for use by students. This equipment enables students to view and hear themselves in various speech situations, thus aiding them in improving their speaking abilities. Mr. Bradford Jenkins is teaching a new literature course which will be the basis for other courses such as short stories and modern drama. 50 esd Ke aa oA,

COMMERCIAL ART INSTRUCTION AIDED BY NEW INSTRUCTORS AND EQUIPMENT In order to give more individual instruction to students, several part-time instructors have joined the Commercial Art staff. The new instructors are Mrs. Nona Smith who is in charge of Copywriting, Mrs. Michale Bates, a first year Design teacher, and Miss Judith Jarvis who is instructing in Design and Figure Drawing. A new copy camera and plate burner were purchased for use by advanced Design classes. This new equipment will be used for expanded student familiarization of production equipment and procedures in advertising. 52
