21 tail .,.i.f'Z:v' .. Y Copolecs exercises democracy in class Copolecs is a unique class. Taught by Mr. Charles Albertson, the class studied and com- pared the political and economic systems of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the United States. In addition to comparing the two countries. the class worked as an exercise in democracy. Class members elected officers to preside over discussions according to Roberts Rules of Order. Motions were made, seconded and voted upon. so all members of the class participated in the decision making. In the fall. a class constitution was drafted setting up guidelines for class operation. raising money forfieldtrips, and electing officers. Helen McLaughlin explains a finer point of Soviet economics to Kevin Ralston. -- - - - - - ---Y--..-fry..-.,v..wav4wapa:4val.vArl!.HllJ .1 . . H Y . . 4 K t w V, . , -33,-. gg' ,f ,li g V.
