Foster. i Concerts, ensembles keep orchestra busy The Guilford Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Donald Zimmerman, had an active year. In addition to the winter and spring concerts, many orchestra members participated in ensembles and solos which performed at two school recitals and went to the state contest in ' rf March. Along with the Drama and Choral departments, the orchestra put on the musical T Oklahoma! , for which orchestra members played in the pit orchestra. A music festival with the Eisenhower Orchestra was held in April and the orchestra performed at Baccalaureate. Before Christmas, members sold wreaths to raise funds for equipment for the Guilford and Eisenhower orchestras. 50 Associations

Thienemann. 52 Associations Chorus develops performance variety The Guilford Choral Department has had a busy season. Under the direction of Mrs. Ruth Gus- tafson, the choirs opened their concert season with the Christmas Concert, in which they pre- sented the annual Christmas Story, The Mira- cle of Notre Dame. In addition to their school concerts and the Spring Concert, the individual choirs presented programs at area grade schools and rest homes. The members of A Cappella made plans for a concert tour in Janu- ary. The weekend trip included a stop in Minne- apolis and a performance at a church service Sunday morning. The Guilford Madrigals, who traveled to England, Ireland, and Scotland last summer, performed at the Woman's Club fash- ion show and many other events throughout the year.
