This year, Guilford's AFS exchange stu- dent was Brigitte Gras, from France. Brigitte stayed with her American sister, Michelle Brooks, '74, and her family. As a club, AFS had a Halloween party and participated in the YWCA's annual Christmas Tree Lane. AFS also held several bake sales. 46 Associations Concerts, halftime performed by Bands The bands opened the '72-'73 season with the appearance of the Nlarching Band, made up of the Concert and Varsity Bands, in a series of half-time shows. The Viking Band made its performing debut in the last show which commemorated the Civil War. After the marching season, the bands looked toward the concert season. The first concert was the Christmas Concert, given by the Varsity and Viking Bands. The bands also traveled to area grade schools to give prospective band mem- bers an idea of what the program is like. Other band activities included fun nights and the Cabaret Show , staged jointly with the Cho- ral Department. The end ofthe year was high- lighted by the annual spring trip.
