Keeping in stride with the Viking tradition of winning, the girls finished their seasons with winning records in every sport. They partici- pated in a variety of activities and competed interscholastically in field hockey, tennis, vol- leyball, basketball, track, and softball. Last fall, Coach Jane Friel led the field hockey team to a 2-2-1 record while Mrs. June Haselton coached the tennis team to a smashing unde- feated season. The volleyball and basketball teams, both coached by Miss Patricia Davis and Mrs. Marilyn Wallen, finished their sea- sons with winning records. Both the A and B basketball teams were undefeated. The volley- ball A team finished second inthe conference while the B team took first. The softball team, coached by Miss Davis and Mrs. Wallen, and the track team, led by coaches Mrs. Susan Anderson and Mrs. Sharon King, both look strong and should have successful seasons. UPPER: Nancy Swaby makes one of her many knee-bend- ing saves as goalie of this year's field hockey team.
