Secular, Sacred Music Comes from Vi-Hi Both sacred and secular music in four- part harmony is sung by the Vi-Hi Singers. This organization, open to any student inter- ested in music, consisted of forty-four mem- bers this year. Throughout the year, the students in- creased their ability to sing and participated in the annual Christmas Concert and Spring Concert. Concert Choir Aims at Vocal Perfection ex' .....,. ..... a .,. . 1 5 1 4J 212 Officers Kathy Monson, Susan Donstad, Rhonda Palmer, and Shelley Anderson pose in their future music room. This past year, Girls' Concert Choir, directed by Mrs. Ruth Gustafson, strived to achieve a high de- gree of excellence in the perfection of vocal technique. Dynamics, pitch, blend, control and resonance were among the essentials which were confronted during the hours spent in practice every week. In addition to the class period, the choir participated in secular and sacred performances at Bethlehem Lutheran, Central Christian, Broadway Covenant and Temple Baptist Church. The choir also took part in the Christmas Concert and several members tried out for the spring musical, T he Music Man. Accompa- nists for the choir were Joanne Fieser and Karen Patton. The officers were Cathy Monson, president, Susan Donstad, vice-president, Shelly Anderson, secretary-treasurer, and Rhonda Palmer, publicity chairman.

Folk Music Appreciation is newly formed class and club of Guilford High School. The club met five days a week as a half credit subject. It was established to better understand the concepts of Folk Dance and Folk Music. Also included in its line of study were the culture and traditions of countries from which dances are derived. Under the direction of Mrs. Ruth Gustafson, the Viking dancers appear in public performances and at private parties. The club is open to anyone interested in folk song and dance and willing to give up some study time.
